Ned Michaels, Director

Ned Michaels graduated from Vanderbilt in 2001. He was a multi-year letterman and winner of the Mason Rudolph Cup in 2000. He played on the Hooters Tour from 2001-2003 winning twice and posting numerous top tens. He played the Asian and European Tours from 2004-2008 winning the 2004 Philippine Open and posting numerous top tens on both tours. He has played with some of the best players in the world over the past six years including: Adam Scott, Brandt Snedeker, Henrick Stenson, KJ Choi, Retief Goosen, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, and Luke Donald. He knows, first hand, what it takes to become an elite golfer.

Virgil Herring, Consulting Instructor

Virgil Herring is Director of Instruction at the acclaimed Gaylord Springs Golf Links and is also founder of Higher Performance Golf Academy. Virgil received the 2003 Tennessee Section PGA Teacher of the Year Award and was also named 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 Middle TN Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year. Virgil worked with Nashville native Brandt Snedeker from 2000-2007 as well as tour players Harry Taylor, Brad Fabel, Cliff Kresge, Vance Veazey, Garrett Willis, Job Wolcott, and Kim Williams. He currently works with 52 Division-1 College Players and 22 top TN Junior Players.

Patrick Jackson, Consulting Instructor

Patrick Jackson is the PGA Director of Instruction at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. He is a Class "A" Member of the PGA with over 10 years experience in the fi eld of golf instruction. Patrick is also President of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Tennessee PGA. In 2009, Patrick was named 2009 Middle Tennessee PGA Teacher of the Year. He also earned 2000 Golf Professional of the year and is a 3-Time Golf Professional of the Year.

Matt Killen, Consulting Instructor

Matt Killen is the founder of Killen Golf and Director of Instruction for Olde Stone Golf Club in Bowling Green, KY. Matt currently works with numerous PGA tour players including Kenny Perry, JB Holmes, and Chad Campbell. He also works with a number of mini-tour pros, collegiate players, and junior champions. He currently teaches both the Kentucky and Tennessee Junior Players of the Year and State Amateur Champions. Matt was recently voted in the "Top 20 under 40" golf instructors in the world.

Sports Psychology

Vickie Woosley, Psychology Doctor

Dr. Woosley is a graduate of Argosy University, Washington, D.C. She holds a masters degree in Educational Counseling and Clinical Psychology. Her Psy.D. is in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology. She is currently the Coordinator of Sport Psychology Services at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Woosley focuses on working with athletes and helping them create an individualized, practical map for achieving peak performance in their sport and in life.

Physical Assessment and Training

Dr. Brandon Gilliam, PT, DPT, ATC, TPI-CGFI MP-2, TPI level III certified

Dr. Gilliam holds his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Belmont University. He is a TPI level III certifi ed trainer, one of only three such trainers in the state of Tennessee. In addition to his position as Director of the Physiotherapy Performance Golf Institute, Dr. Gilliam is also the Sports Medicine Director at Results Physiotherapy in Brentwood and Head Athletic Trainer at Christ Presbyterian Academy. His in-depth knowledge of the body's biomechanics allows him to read and understand the TPI-3D kinematic test on a deeper level than any other trainer in the Nashville area.

Jim Cotta

Jim Cotta is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and holds a B.S. in Exercise Science. He has 20 years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach working with a variety of athletes at the University of Texas, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, who earned championship rings in 2000, 2001, and 2002.

Libby Ramsey

Libby Ramsey is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She teaches Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, completing her yoga training under the world-renowned founder Baron Baptiste. She also had additional training in Yoga for Athletes with Sage Rountree, a published expert on the subject. In addition to yoga instruction, Libby currently works for the USGA as Manager of U.S. Open Corporate Merchandising and was a former Lacrosse player at UVA, earning an ACC Championship and playing in two national championship finals.

Master Club Fitter

Tim Sygerych

Tim is currently Master Club Fitter at Gaylord Springs Golf Links. Prior to this position, Tim was an assistant club fi tter for four years at the Faldo Institute, where he provided club fi tting and repair services to both professionals and amateurs. Tim's clients included PGA Tour players Nick Faldo, Brain Gay, Frank Nobilo, Ty Tryon and Jay Williamson; LPGA players Janice Moody, Karen Stupples and Se Ri-Pak; and celebrities Ken Griffey, Jr. and Justin Timberlake.

College Recruiting/NCAA Compliance

Missy Michaels

Missy is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.A. in Advertising. Missy was an All-American swimmer capturing three consecutive SEC Championship team titles as well as the 1999 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving DI National Championship. Following graduation, she spent five years working as an advertising account executive with firms in Atlanta and Nashville. She spent the last five years caddying on the professional golf circuit, including the European and Nationwide tours.
